The project is for a new hospital building for the Misericordia Community Hospital in Grosseto and its public spaces and open areas. The new building consists of a four storeys horizontal volume oriented north to south, about 19 m high, flanked by two low blocks, about 10 m high. The volume consist of a ground floor intended for general services, a first floor dedicated to surgery with 15 operating rooms and to intensive care units with 32 bed and two floor of wards for a total of 120 bed ward in single-bed or double room. In terms of overall distribution, the project includes: the articulation of the building in horizontal body/tower, a ground floor for facilities and services, links with the existing hospital and the opportunity to grow in the future years.
