For a classy, attractive and highly livable residence, the project aims primarily to favor the relationship between the houses and the park. Thanks to some volumetric cuts, from each apartment it is possible to enjoy views of the park or of the green square placed between the lots. The "heads" and the "back" no longer exist. Those cuts allow you to multiply the views in all directions from each apartment, to accentuate the circulation of air and space and to increase the brightness within the spaces. It also creates a continuous system of outdoor living spaces, facing the green and the sun, both in the loggias - deep and generous, but not too much, in order to maintain a sensible balance with the commercial surface - and to the interior of the apartments, through windows that start from the floor and transform each room into a potential loggia. The livability and attractiveness of these accommodations will be profoundly enriched. On the other hand, the continuity of the complex of blocks is confirmed by their base, which runs continuously on the road and reassures pedestrians, wrapping their urban space in which they move during the day and evening hours (there is no doubt that the quality of the space public also increases the value of the buildings facing it). But above the base, from the first floor upwards, those cuts and those breaks articulate the mass into virtual differentiated volumes - albeit respectful of the rules of the plan - because this avoids the detested depersonalizing massification induced by closure and repetitive continuity and boring of the building fronts and the opposite, an appreciated principle of individuality of the buildings is introduced, the sense of ownership, the difference and the sense of belonging to one's home for future owners is strengthened. The volumes are inspired by a measure that is found frequently in some highly qualified districts of the city of Florence and which are appreciated for their pleasantness and urban liveability: it is a "human measure".
Winning project of an invitation-only competition, the last of the important transformation of the ex-Fiat area of Novoli.
