Being the context so delicate, a mimetic approach is required, a philological reading of existing architectural structures, with few alterations and fully integrated with the urban settlement of the famous Valdelsa's town. Since the richness of historical layers together with landscape, urban and architectural values, required, extreme caution should be used; before coming to any solution or project idea it is fundamental being guided by the complexity of existing buildings, of its reading, comprehension and deep interpretation. Therefore a careful observation of the settlement rules, of the present size and density, is necessary, with an approach tending to remove than add new elements, just like an “art of removing”.
